A.Rafael

Age: 26 | Organization: Rafael | Position: Hot Integration Field
A., 26, works at Rafael as the Head of the Cold Inclusion Section in the Iron Dome system. Since the outbreak of the “Iron Swords” war, A. has been intensely involved in several key Rafael projects for Israel’s defense system. The responsibility and importance of meeting production schedules, while addressing operational and human needs within the section, require A. to adapt quickly to dynamic activities, work hard even on Fridays and Saturdays during combat, motivate employees, listen to their needs, and nurture their professional and personal growth to achieve success—all while demonstrating exceptional professionalism.
A. shares:
“My section is responsible for the production of every Tamir interceptor ever manufactured in Israel. Since the outbreak of the ‘Iron Swords’ war, the workload has doubled, and Rafael operates 24/7, through holidays and weekends, day and night, to supply the defense system with as many interceptors as possible to protect Israel’s citizens and their homes. Today, a significant part of Rafael’s activity involves making adjustments and upgrades to air defense systems to address new threats that challenge us. We work tirelessly to implement changes and deliver results immediately. In short, the country can count on us.”
A. explains how he copes with the long hours and intense work:
“Ophir Sarfati, of blessed memory, was my childhood friend. He was at the Nova festival and was murdered there. Ophir could have saved himself by getting into a vehicle that would take him to safety, but he decided to first ensure his friends got on and helped others evacuate. This selflessness defined him, and it cost him his life. So, when I lose sleep or time with my wife, I think about Ophir, who gave up his life for those close to him. I face the workload with great pride because I know that my work and the hours I put in, together with my team, truly protect the citizens of this country. If we don’t invest the time and effort we do, there wouldn’t be interceptors to defend the people of Israel. Our work has a direct impact on human lives. The interceptors we’re working on today will be launched as early as next week. That’s the essence of our mission at Rafael.”
