Major K. serves as the Head of the Artificial Intelligence Department within the R&D division of MAFAT. He is a Software Engineering graduate specializing in artificial intelligence. Major K. acts as a project officer, managing high-tech projects in collaboration with industry experts and partners from defense systems.

In his role, Major K. developed a groundbreaking capability in the field of artificial intelligence for border defense. This project won first place in the 2023 IDF Chief of Staff Innovation Award.

During the “Iron Swords” war, Major K. initiated several projects related to artificial intelligence and border defense, while fostering collaborations with international partners. He also leads the national program for natural language processing in Hebrew and Arabic, in partnership with the Innovation Authority and government ministries, with budgets amounting to hundreds of millions of shekels. Additionally, he oversees a unique collaboration with Google, expected to bring a significant breakthrough for the State of Israel.

Alongside his duties, Major K. is currently completing a master’s degree in artificial intelligence. For his outstanding achievements, he was awarded an excellence award by the Head of MAFAT on Independence Day.
