Age: 30 | Organization: Israeli Air Force | Role: Connectivity Engineer for Simulators
Major A. is a graduate of the Academic Reserve Program in Electrical and Electronics Engineering and holds a master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. He has been serving for approximately 10 years in the simulator (training systems) division of the Air Force’s technological headquarters. Over the past year, he has also taken on the role of Head of a Section in the Biological Engineering Department within the Directorate of Defense Research and Development (MAFAT). He has extensive experience leading complex, multidisciplinary projects involving multiple systems and stakeholders.
Throughout his service, A. has significantly influenced the development of simulators for all divisions of the Air Force. Currently, he is collaborating with IDF partners to lead a technological vision for a digital transformation in the training systems division. His goal is to connect the training environments of different units into a shared virtual environment that optimally simulates operational reality. “Integration in combat is essential in the modern operational world, and the goal is to bring that same integration into the simulation arena. This initiative will lead to a profound shift in how military training is conducted.”
In his role at MAFAT, A. leads research and development in the field of Bio-convergence, integrating engineering, information, and life sciences. He aims to create an integrative program for major projects involving multiple industry and academic partners, including innovative field activities alongside the push for operational application of technologies that have so far only been demonstrated in the lab. These processes mark a breakthrough in the fields of life sciences and defense.
