Age: 30 | Organization: IDF (Israel Defense Forces) | Role: Head of Innovation, Planning and Building Force Division

A., a graduate of the Democratic High School in Modiin and the LEAD organization for leadership development, has demonstrated a consistent commitment to leadership and community service. Before his military service, he volunteered for a year at the “Neve Hanna” rehabilitative boarding school for children and youth.

In 2014, A. enlisted in Unit 669 of the Israeli Air Force, serving as a combat soldier and commander from 2015 to 2019, during which he led significant operational projects. He was responsible for the unit’s rescue operations and work-at-height capabilities. From 2020 to 2023, A. served as a representative of Wing 7 (Special Air Forces Headquarters) in MAFAT (the IDF’s Research and Development Directorate) and as the wing’s innovation officer. In this capacity, he led long-term R&D projects in collaboration with industries and security organizations.

Throughout his life, A. has been dedicated to volunteering in the community, working with at-risk youth, the elderly, and individuals with special needs. He has also contributed to organizations such as “Meeting Point for Israel,” which promotes dialogue within Israeli society, and “Israeli Flying Aid.” He continues to engage in community activities to this day.

Since April 2023, A. has served as the Head of Innovation in the IDF’s Planning and Building Force Division. In this role, he oversees the professional knowledge and training for innovation across the IDF. His responsibilities include recruiting and training soldiers for the IDF’s innovation apparatus, managing a multi-branch innovation forum, leading cross-branch innovation and force-building projects, overseeing the IDF’s innovation community, and fostering relationships with innovation bodies in foreign militaries, government entities, and security organizations in Israel.

During the “Operation Iron Swords” war, A. established a joint military-civilian framework that bridged civilian initiatives and the entrepreneurial ecosystem with the IDF’s operational and technological challenges. He managed a mechanism involving approximately 70 reservists called up under emergency orders, including experts from various disciplines, and led numerous projects to expedite and enhance force-building capabilities.

In parallel, A. continues to serve in an operational capacity in Unit 669 as a commander of air and ground rescue teams. In this role, he has participated in countless life-saving missions, both before and during Operation Iron Swords.
