Age: 27 | Organization: Roboteam | Role: Systems Engineer

Ofek has always dreamed of becoming an engineer, ever since he was young. He was fascinated by understanding how things work, what they are made of, and the forces that operate within them to make them function. Even before his military service in the Israeli Air Force, he was building and flying drones and model aircraft, designing parts, and printing them with a 3D printer he built and assembled himself. These interests and hobbies led him to pursue studies in mechanical engineering, and early on in his academic journey, he knew he wanted to contribute to Israel’s defense industry.

In recent years, Ofek has been working as a mechanical engineer in the defense industry at the startup company “Roboteam.” The company specializes in developing advanced autonomous tools for defense and security. Ofek began his journey at Roboteam during his engineering studies and now serves as the systems engineer for an advanced hybrid drone called “Tarnegol” (Rooster). This drone is an integral part of the national effort and plays a significant role in ongoing operations in Gaza, serving as a critical tactical tool that helps soldiers in the field protect themselves and gather vital intelligence.

Over the past year, Ofek has worked tirelessly, day and night, to manufacture and assemble systems for the Israeli Defense Forces as part of the national effort, joining forces with technology companies to support the advanced battlefield adopted by the military.

Ofek says he strives to contribute as much as possible to the security of the country, grow professionally, and learn something new every day in the field of engineering and autonomous systems. He believes that working in this field allows him to fulfil his passion for technology and engineering while contributing to meaningful national goals.
